Willunga Massage – that relaxed feeling

That post massage, amazing, relaxed feeling is something that you want to last for as long as possible. Below we share our massage after care advice for after you see our masseur Fern to maximize that post massage feeling.

The first tip is something we say a lot to our clients and that is to drink plenty of water! The first reason for this is simply to rehydrate as getting a massage can be quite dehydrating. The room is lovely and warm and you lay still for an hour after which, much like when you first wake up in the morning, your body needs a lovely long drink. If you are feeling any lingering soreness after a massage, drinking water is one of the best ways to hydrate your soft tissues and start to shift that soreness.

Our second tip is to take it easy but keep moving! We recommend holding off on any strenuous activity for 12-24 hours after your massage. However, gentle movement is actively encouraged to maintain the relaxation and increased mobility gained through your massage. Especially if you’re heading back to your desk after your massage or to work the following day standing up and stretching gently at regular intervals will help immensely.

Speaking of work, one of the best ways to extend that post massage feeling is to actively plan to stay relaxed after your massage. If you can schedule your massage after work and engage in calming activities you enjoy for the remainder of the evening.

Last but not least, remember to book another massage!
Creating a routine of getting massages at regular intervals that work for you alongside any other treatment you may be having will help you to maintain your physical and mental wellbeing.
